Sweater Update

Wicked (the sweater) is going along well. It turned out that my gauge was right for the pattern and that I was just being crazy. I started by casting on 128 stitches and I believe that now I am up to 264 stitches. I have 5 more rounds of increases and 5 more rounds of regular knitting. At that point I will be removing the sleeves and apparently you can try on the top to see how the fit is. I'm really excited to try it on, but worried that it won't fit right! The only way to know is to get there....so I've been knitting like a mad woman!

These are are truer to the color. Though they offer nothing to detail.


I'm trying to show some of the details of the sweater in these photos. Unfortunately I had to use the flash tonight and I'm too lazy to try and take some better pictures.

Wicked

I'm going to attempt to knit a sweater. It is seamless, so that makes it seem easier. I bought the needles for it and did the gauge swatch. However, it looks like I might have to go down a needle size. Blah, I don't know what I'm going to do. I might go by the knitting store tomorrow and ask them to help me with it in case I am doing it wrong. I'd also need to get the new needles.

I also decided that I need to change the color of yarn that I am using - dark brown is not good for seeing the stitches.... maybe dark brown for the next one. I hope that the store will switch out the yarn for me....well except for the one that I already knit from.

This minor glitch has somewhat put a damper on my spirits for knitting the sweater.

I really like how this scarf looks....however, I'm not too thrilled with the actual knitting part (i.e. the pattern itself), though it is getting better.

Bamboo Scarf

Just finished the bamboo scarf that I started while at home. This scarf was a fairly fast knit, at least compared to other scarves that I have done.

Pattern: Bamboo Scarf from VOGUEknitting: knit simple
Yarn: Catalina Chunky 60% baby alpaca 40% Merino
Color: #311 turquoise
Needles: size 10 ChiaoGoo (Bamboo)

I bought this yarn on sale at my LYS for $10 something a skein. I bought 2 skeins and used both for this scarf (each hank is 100 g, 109 yds).
